Finding a Bed

Finding a trans-friendly shelter can be difficult but is not impossible. Calling local LGBTQ+ centers is often the best first step, as they will know which shelters are safe and affirming. Dialing 2-1-1 in most areas can connect you with local housing resources.

Housing Assistance

Look for local and national programs that offer rental assistance or rapid re-housing for people experiencing homelessness. These programs can sometimes help with security deposits or first month's rent. The Trans Lifeline microgrants can also sometimes be used for housing-related expenses.
